Award-winning author Will Kostakis combines practical writing advice with honest reflections on his fifteen-year career writing for young adults.

Over three hours, Will takes you through the writing process, from selecting ideas and structuring novels, to crafting a voice that crackles on the page. But writing is only half of being an author. What are the financial realities of writing books for young adults? How do you sustain a viable career? How do you build a brand? How do you weather setbacks and controversy? Will is (excuse the pun) an open book. He armours you with the tools you'll need to write and elevate your work, and survive the ups and downs of authordom.

Participants will:

  • Generating young adult ideas
  • Plot and structure
  • Crafting voice
  • Elevating your work (literary merit)
  • A step-by-step guide through all the professional mistakes he's made so you don't make them
