Website Access

We are committed to improving the usability of this website. The Writers SA website aims to meet Web Consortium Accessibility Guidelines (W3C) and has been designed to work across most popular browsers. If you have any issues or would prefer any of the information on the site in another format, please contact us.

To enlarge the size of the text on this website, please follow the instructions below:

  • You can change the size of the font using your keyboard and mouse. If your mouse has a scroll wheel, press and hold Ctrl, then move the mouse wheel up or down.
  • Alternatively, press and hold Ctrl (or Command on Mac), then press + or – (plus or minus) on your keyboard to increase and decrease the font size.

Workshops and courses

Please let us know about any access requirements or queries before booking. 

Complimentary places at our in-person events can be organised for companions and interpreters, to register your plus one for an event or workshop, please email [email protected]. If you require the speaker/presenter to wear a microphone device, please let us know at least five working days in advance of the event since this could affect existing audio. If you’d like Writers SA to provide an interpreter, please get in contact two weeks before an event or workshop.

We run many of our workshops and events online via Zoom, which includes an automatic captioning feature that you can turn on, see their how-to here   [https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/4403492514829], we also provide video recordings of most online events to watch back in your own time.

Some of our in-person workshops can also be streamed on request, please contact us.

Building access

Access to the Institute Building is via the external ramp on the Kintore Ave entrance or via the internal ramp between the Institute Building and the Spence Wing of the State Library of South Australia (opposite the Treasures Wall).

The lift will only access level two, where Writers SA is located, if you have an appointment. Please call us when you arrive so we can call the lift for you. 

Venue access

Writers SA uses a range of venues, including the State Library, Adelaide City Library, and other partners. You will find venue-specific accessibility guidelines in individual events.
