Unleash the power of your imagination and join us for a full-day workshop with Lisa L. Hannett on dark fantasy writing!

If your mind is brimming with strange creatures, otherworldly characters, and haunting locales, this is the perfect opportunity to bring your ideas to life. Aimed at new and emerging writers (and those new to the genre), this workshop highlights the nuts and bolts of writing dark fantasy fiction, offering relevant tips, exercises, and inspiration for novelists and short story writers alike.

Turn your notebooks of odd magic, twisted tales, and “what ifs” into fanciful stories that lead the imagination down weird and wonderful paths. This full-day course will guide you through world-building, characterisation, plotting, and research, to help you unleash your creativity and take your writing to the next level. Join Lisa Hannett and discover the world of unusual, enchanting, and unsettling fantasy stories.

Participants will learn:

  • Dark fantasy: what is it?
  • Beginners' toolkit for writing dark fantasy
  • Writing exercises and prompts
  • Editing tips
  • Information about publication opportunities.
