Woodcroft Writers

Woodcroft Morphett Vale Neighbourhood Centre | Tuesday during school terms 12.30-2.45

Group Genre: General

Our group includes writers of poetry, short stories, plays and novels, and members have a range of experiences and goals. Some of us just enjoy writing for fun and self-expression, while others are aiming for publication or have already been published.

The group has an informal structure. We read our writings aloud, talk about writing, publishing, competitions, and anything else we fancy. We also do a fun exercise most weeks to get our creative juices flowing. The main things we have in common are a love of writing and reading, and a desire to have fun!

We are always interested in meeting new writers, both beginners and those with experience, so if you’re interested, please contact us or just come along. the cost is $4 per week, but your first visit is free.

Adelaide Writers’ Group

Cumberland Arms Hotel | 3rd Thursday of every month, 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Group Genre: General

This group is a workshopping opportunity for emerging and established writers working on fiction of all genres. Members send out an excerpt of what they’re working on (2,000 words and under) the week before and everyone critiques the pieces and brings their written feedback along to discuss at the meetings.

The group doesn’t welcome egotistical or overly critical writers because we’re focused on constructive feedback, encouragement, and mutual support. The meetings are friendly and informal with a few drinks as well.
