*This event is now SOLD OUT* Join Text Publishing’s Senior Editor Jane Pearson for a lunchtime session to peek behind the scenes into all things publishing.

In this lunchtime session, Jane will speak about the processes new writers should be aware of when submitting full manuscripts to publishers, and what she looks for when selecting work for publication and awards. Jane will be drawing on her experience publishing titles across adult fiction and non-fiction as well as young adult and children’s titles. The session will include a Q&A opportunity for writers to ask questions about the publishing process in general, and specifically in relation to the editorial practices at Text Publishing. Text Publishing is an independent, Melbourne-based publisher of literary and commercial fiction and non-fiction. Text has been awarded the ABIA Small Publisher of the Year three times and won the Leading Edge Books Small Publisher of the Year in 2018 and 2019.

This special event is free for members.  This session is suitable for writers at all levels.

Jane Pearson is a senior editor at Text Publishing. She acquires and edits fiction and non-fiction as well as young adult and children’s titles. She is a judge of the Text Prize for Young Adult and Children’s Writing. And her authors include Helen Garner, Lloyd Jones, Tim Flannery, Nina Kenwood, Emily Gale, Jessica Miller, Carly Nugent, Miranda Luby and Holden Sheppard.
