Join award-winning poet and novelist Allen C. Jones in this compact Work Space style session to learn and experience fun writing games that unlock the "creative mind" to stop writer's block.

In this Work Space style session with a playful twist, Allen will introduce writers to a set of useful and inspiring writing games to unlock creativity and give a new angle on ways to say goodbye to whatever blocks you. These games will get you thinking about new ways to approach writing, through humour, collaboration, and surprise. At the same time, they will help build the foundation for real breakthroughs in your every-day writing practice.

By the end of this session, you will be armed with a completely new way to think about writing, and new techniques to avoid writer’s block and get back to your stories!

Participants will:

  • Discuss useful writing techniques
  • Play writing games
  • Explore the deep roots of creativity using freewriting
  • Produce one original creative piece (or rework your own piece)
  • Spend a productive afternoon writing with peers

This interactive Work Space session is suitable for writers at all levels, from complete beginners to people who have (maybe not) written for years.

Work Space credits do apply and can be redeemed by emailing [email protected]
