Barbara Rosie was awarded a three-book contract from IFWG publications for her fantasy trilogy, ‘Tangler’s Web’, and released the first book, The Brazen Dragon.

On the Wrong Side of the Road: Europe on Four Wheels by Roger Zubrinich was published by Wakefield Press.

Hayley Frazer published ‘The Magical Tram’, her third children’s book and the first she has illustrated.

FIFTY+SA published Daniel G. Taylor’s article, ‘Nine Secondhand Book Havens Worth Discovering’

Robert Horne has been invited to chair a panel titled ‘The Subjective Voice: Depicting Authentic Historical Characters’ at the biennial conference of The Historical Novel Society of Australia in December.

Helen Edwards has been longlisted for the ARA Historical Novel Prize for Children and Young Adults for her novel On Gallant Wings.

Allayne L. Webster has published her 11th book Maisy Hayes is not for Sale this is her 7th Young Adult novel.

July

Susea Spray‘s book A Day on the Brine by has won a Literary Titan Gold Book Award.

Fred Bray launched his book, Juventus Motorcycle Club Inc. A History from 1956 to 2024 during History Month.

Michael Dwyer has published the cli-fi novel Earthly Threats through Green Hill Publishing.

Karen J Carlisle published a portal fantasy, Twixtmas: An Aunt Enid Christmas Story (of sorts)

Cameron Rutherford, through their business Reed and Storm Editing, has published the first issue, ‘City of Churches’, in an online literary magazine, ‘Woven Webs’.

April

Robin Boord’s essay ‘Consolation of Clouds’ was awarded the third prize in Australian Book Review’s Calibre Essay prize. Her novel manuscript Out of Place was shortlisted in the 2024 South Australian Literary Awards.

Elizabeth Crowley launched her second children’s book High High High Up in the Sky at the Naracoorte Library.

Prudence Hemming was announced the runner up in the New American Press Short Fiction prize for the short fiction piece ‘Twenty Three Crates from China’ published in Mayday Magazine in 2024.

Louise Nicholas was recently announced as the national winner of the 2024 Bruce Dawe Poetry Prize.

Annie Owen launched her new book The Exile of Gibbo at the Woodcraft Library.

February

Dr Helen Edward’s On Gallant Wings will be published on April 2 with Riveted Press.  It’s a sweeping WWII adventure about family, courage and knowing when to break the rules, which shines a light on many little-known aspects of the war’s impact on Australians at home.

Lisa Monterosso’s children’s book Sharkfin and the School of Fish is being released on March 5, under the Tiny Seed imprint of Starfish Bay Publishing. The story includes practical moral lessons that are supported by the endearing illustrations of Carlotta Zanettini.

Kylie Tull signed her third publishing contract with Starfish Bay Publishing on January 20.

January

Bethany Clark’s latest picture book with Affirm Press launches this February. Little Love List shines a light on unconditional love, reminding us it is never-ending no matter how fun or tricky the day has been.

Kristen Doherty’s most recent play, The Playhouse premiered in New York in late November. To date there have been over 400 productions of Kristen’s plays in schools and theatre companies all over the world.

John AD Fraser won the Judy Nunn Short Story Competition, presented by Penguin Random House Australia, in late December. Jesus of Tascott will be published later this year.

Tim Gaze has four visual poems published in OLGA no. 3: The Odyssey reboot.

Ian Gibbins’ poetry videos have appeared in more than 60 screenings across 22 countries. Four won international awards in USA, Portugal, Thailand and Argentina.  

Lauren Goodwin finished the first draft of my debut manuscript in January of this year.

Kami’s new novel, Fists Of Love, published by Paroxysm Press, was launched in November at Jive Nightclub with guest poets, live music and a reading from the novel.
