Campbelltown Writers’ Competition 2024

Journey

From a journey through our beautiful council parks and reserves to your family’s journey to reside in Campbelltown, this theme elicits the exploration of the Campbelltown area.

The annual Campbelltown Writer’s Competition is on again and writers from across South Australia are invited to submit their original stories inspired by the theme of Journey. Entries can be fiction or non-fiction but must not exceed 2,500 words and must have a link to the Campbelltown area, a Campbelltown resident or references to the City of Campbelltown. All genres and styles welcome.

Entries open 9am, Monday 1 July 2024 and close 11pm Monday 30 September 2024.

Categories and Prizes

This year we have 3 categories open for entry, with prizes up for grabs across all categories!

This competition is facilitated by The City of Campbelltown and judged by Writers SA.

How to Enter

The competition is open to all genres and styles of writing including short stories, factual articles, memoirs and poetry. Entries can be fiction or non-fiction but must not exceed 2,500 words and must have a link to the Campbelltown area, a Campbelltown resident or references to the City of Campbelltown. Please ensure you have read and comply with the full Terms & Conditions (below) prior to entry.

This year we will be only accepting online submissions.

Entry Form

Campbelltown Library will hold author events, writing workshops and more during the competition with the final awards ceremony expected to be held in mid November 2024.
