Because Writers SA believes in fostering all writers, even from a young age, we hold writing workshops for young people regularly throughout the year and in the school holidays. The emphasis is on fun and coming away with something tangible.
If you are from a school or organisation we can also develop kids and young people’s writing workshops, one-off talks and events, and other programs with and for you, please contact us at [email protected] or call on 08 8223 7662 to find out more.

I have a 7 year old with a keen interest in writing. Do you have classes that cater for this age group?
Hi Norma, thanks for your interest! At the moment we only have workshops for teenaged writers, but please keep an eye on our program page or sign up to our email news and we’ll let you know of any upcoming classes for younger kids.

Hi Norma,
I will be doing a workshop at the Adelaide City Library during the next lot of school holidays for younger kids but I don’t have the details yet. If you haven’t already, subscribe to the city library events email or give them a call closer to the holidays – https://www.cityofadelaide.com.au/community/library-services/events-at-the-library/
Hi Bromwyn, my 7 year old is crazy about writing and super keen fir a writing workshop, could you let me know when there is one on for her age group? She is very switched on so if aimed at a little bit older is no problem. Thank you anke
The writing workshop will be on at The City Library just off Rundle Mall and will be July 7th at 11am. You do need to register your interest so keep an eye on the calendar of events or give the library a call to book in. Thanks!
