Edoardo Crismani

Edoardo graduated with a Bachelor of Media Arts degree from the University of South Australia (UniSA) in August 2012. He majored in Film and TV production and minored in Creative Writing. He achieved a High Distinction average in his degree. Edoardo’s academic achievements include: being chosen as the recipient of the 2012 Tappa Tangka Manninendi Medal (awarded to the final year undergraduate UniSA Indigenous student with the highest GPA); being awarded the 2011 Gavin Wanganeen Scholarship, sponsored by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources; receiving a Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation in 2011; and being chosen as a recipient of the University Merit Awards in 2010. He wrote and directed a short film titled, Just Be Yourself that is being broadcast nationwide on National Indigenous TV, and his creative writings (short stories and poetry) have been published in Piping Shrike Phoenix (2012) and Southerly Journal (December 2012).

Edoardo will be developing his short story into a novella. His story is inspired by his grandfather, who was a South Australian boxing champion, known as the Black Panther. Edoardo Crismani’s residency was flagged at the Indigenousscholarships.com.au website.
