Allayne Webster

Allayne Webster is a Children’s/Young Adult Author. Allayne’s first YA novel, ‘Our Little Secret’, was longlisted for a Golden Inky, and her second publication, ‘Barnesy’, a junior fiction novel illustrated by Tom Jellett, was selected for the Premier’s Reading Challenges across Australia. Allayne’s second YA novel, ‘Stresshead’, was released to strong reviews, and her 2015 middle-grade novel, ‘Paper Planes’ was listed as a CBCA Notable Book and shortlisted for the Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature. Her 2017 middle grade novel, ‘A Cardboard Palace,’ was also listed as a CBCA Notable Book and has been published in Sweden. In 2018 Allayne released a YA novel, ‘The Centre of My Everything’, and junior fiction novel, ‘Sam’s Surfboard Showdown’, both honouring her step-father’s Aboriginal heritage. (The junior fiction novel is co-authored/illustrated by her sister, Amanda S. Clarke.) ‘The Centre of My Everything’ was shortlisted in the 2020 Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature. In 2019, Allayne published ‘Sensitive,’ a MG/YA crossover novel based on Allayne’s struggle with childhood illness. ‘Sensitive’ has been sold to Russia.  Allayne is the recipient of three South Australian Arts grants. She continues to write fulltime.
