SALA Seeks Writers for Book

SALA Monograph – nominations now open.

Nominations are open for the South Australian Living Artist publication, produced annually to profile one of the State’s prominent visual artists. Individuals and organisations are invited to nominate practising professional artists who are considered outstanding in their field of visual arts, craft and design and are about to make a major move into
national or international markets through a significant, confirmed opportunity. Self-nominations are also accepted.

Nominations are also invited for a South Australian arts writer or writers to develop the content of the book, and for an emerging South Australian writer to undertake a mentorship. The book is developed and published in conjunction with the Board of the South Australian Living Arts (SALA) Festival and Wakefield Press.

It is expected the book will be released to coincide with a major exhibition of the artist’s work nationally or internationally.

Catherine Truman is the subject of the next SALA publication, and artists in past books include Giles Bettison, Nicholas Folland, Stephen Bowers, Mark Kimber, Hossein Valamanesh, Khai Liew, Angela Valamanesh, Gerry Wedd, Julie Blyfield, Aldo Iacobelli and Michele Nikou.

NOMINATIONS CLOSE ON 20 NOVEMBER 2015.

For information and nomination forms, visit or contact Michael Hill, Julia Moretti or Belinda Powles on 8463 5444. Details here.
