Splinter journal opens submissions for issue two

After the launch of its first issue last month, Writers SA’s literary journal Splinter is excited to invite submissions for issue two.

Splinter is enthusiastic about publishing diverse and intersectional voices and welcomes submissions from writers of all experience levels based anywhere in the world. Because supporting the local writing community is one of our priorities, we publish at least 25 per cent South Australian writers.

Submissions are welcome across a range of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry forms. While Splinter doesn’t publish themed issues, there are some topics and formats we are particularly interested in for issue two, including:

  • High-quality genre fiction
  • Nuanced and sensitive explorations of intimate partner and/or domestic violence
  • Profile pitches
  • De-colonisation narratives
  • Literary criticism pitches

Writers are also encouraged to submit work that doesn’t engage with the above list, but which fits with Splinter‘s general editorial guidelines, which are available at the Splinter website and on our Submittable page.

Issue two submissions are open now and will close at 11:59pm (ACDT) on January 25, 2025. Submissions are accepted via Submittable.

We look forward to reading your work.
