TWELVE

Do you struggle to find time to write? Are you too distracted by the Book of Face or binge-watching TV? Do you ever think to yourself, ‘If only I just had a solid day to write, I’d get so much done’? Then TWELVE, the literary lock-in, is for you.

"TWELVE" means no excuses, no limits, no distractions. Crank your writing projects up to boiling point with twelve hours of uninterrupted writing. You’ll be surprised how much you can get done.

Whether you’re starting a novel, finishing a work-in-progress, or just looking for time to focus, TWELVE is the way to do it.

Ekphrasis with Jill Jones

Presented with SALA Festival

Interpret visual art with the written word with celebrated poet Jill Jones. This experimental writing workshop will let you play with ekphrastic writing; poems, stories, or vivid descriptions of a work of art. Respond to artwork in The Scene is the Seen, an exhibition which explores the relationship between text and art.

Jill Jones has published eleven full-length books of poetry, most recently Viva the Real (UQP), Brink (Five Islands Press), Breaking the Days (Whitmore Press), which was shortlisted for the 2017 Kenneth Slessor Poetry Prize, and The Beautiful Anxiety (Puncher & Wattmann), which won the Victorian Premiers’ Literary Award for Poetry in 2015.
