Dr Sharon Mascall-Dare is a writer and broadcaster specialising in military identity and culture. She began her career as a BBC European Affairs correspondent then moved to Australia in 1999. In the past 30 years she has written and produced a number of award-winning documentaries for the BBC World Service and worked as a columnist, long-form feature writer and journalism educator.
