CHILDREN’S AND YA FESTIVAL TASTER PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

Join us for our first ever Children’s and Young Adult Creators Festival that will feature workshops by Mem Fox, Judy Horacek and Will Kostakis as well as exclusive panel sessions that will give inside info for anyone starting out or wanting an better understanding of the industry, and the chance to make great connections with other writers and industry at our networking event.

SATURDAY 20 NOVEMBER

8.30am Registration and coffee

9am – 12pm Festival welcome plus industry panel sessions covering current trends and opportunities in children’s publishing, and genres, themes and readerships in YA. Featuring: Phil Cummings, Ruth Starke, Sarah Hatton, Will Kostakis, Sean Williams, Roseanne Hawke, Kristin Weidenbach and Vikki Wakefield

12pm Shared lunch provided

12.30–3.30pm WORKSHOPS:  Stream one: Mock up to Manuscript with Judy Horacek   Stream two: Write Your Best with Will Kostakis

3.45–4.45pm Industry Panel Session on collaboration in children’s publishing featuring Mem Fox and Judy Horacek

5–6.30pm Join us for industry networking drinks and book signings.

SUNDAY 22 NOVEMBER

8.30am Registration opens

9–12am WORKSHOP: Rhythm and Rhyme with Mem Fox

12.45–3.45pm Industry Panel Sessions covering picture books and examples of what works, publicity and promotion and reaching your audience and pitching tips and tricks. Featuring: Judy Horacek, Sally Heinrich, Marianne Musgrove, Katrina Germein, Sarah Hatton, Will Kostakis, Ben Chandler, and Sean Williams.
