A shy girl who discovers she is descended from Vikings. A teacher who secretly knits magical scarves. A baby brother who turns out to be a werewolf. Come together and learn how to combine contrasting personality traits to create interesting and original characters. For ages 10-12.
In this workshop, participants will explore how characters grow and change throughout a story and will be given the opportunity to plan a story based on their very own unique character.
Participants will learn:
- What makes an interesting character, such as conflicting personality traits
- The three key elements to creating a story with interesting characters
- How to create their own interesting character using the provided Character Profile worksheet
This workship is only open to young people aged 10-12. Young people under 16 must have parental permission to attend.

About Jacqui Davis
Jacqui Davies is a writer of short stories, flash fiction and book reviews whose work has appeared in a number of Australian magazines and anthologies including Womankind, Books+Publishing and the Wirra Wirra Anthology. She draws inspiration from the magnificent beaches, lakes, volcanoes and sinkholes of South Australia's Limestone Coast, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. She holds a degree in Creative Writing from Flinders University.
