With local publications on the decline, what does the future hold for local journalists, capturing local history and how we consume state news? Join three local journalists and thinkers as they discuss the current and future of the South Australian media landscape.

About the Artists

Anisha Pillarisetty is a journalist at On the Record and a presenter and producer at Radio Adelaide, living on unceded Kaurna Country.

Royce Kurmelovs is an Australian freelance journalist and author of Just Money (2020). His other books include The Death of Holden (2016), Rogue Nation (2017) and Boom and Bust (2018). He lives in Adelaide, South Australia.

Gemma Beale (she/her) is a writer and PhD candidate fast approaching the end of her PhD at The Australian Industrial Transformation Institute, Flinders University. Her PhD is a worker-focused study exploring the relationship between precarious employment and industry closure following the end of automotive manufacturing in Australia. She lectures on the ways the precarity is shaping the future of work and the fourth industrial revolution. Gemma has written for The Adelaide Review, The Conversation and The Advertiser. She has a passion for economic justice, clear thinking, thoughtful conversation and accessible, feminist good times.
