Renowned author Sophie Cunningham (author of City of Trees, Warning: The Story of Cyclone Tracy, editor Fire Flood Plague) will join us for a thoughtful and rousing presentation on the threats of climate change, the importance of hope and the way forward.

About Sophie Cunningham

Sophie Cunningham is the author of six books including City of Trees, Geography, Bird and Warning: The Story of Cyclone Tracy. She is a former publisher and editor and is now an Adjunct Professor at RMIT University’s Non/fiction Lab. In 2019 Sophie Cunningham was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her contributions to literature.

Max Opray is an Adelaide-based journalist and the Morning Editor at Schwartz Media, where he writes the weekday newsletter Post. His multi-award-winning work has appeared in a range of outlets including The Saturday Paper, The Guardian, and AAP.
