In this fast-paced and intensive workshop, internationally bestselling and award-winning author Kate Forsyth will equip you with all the tools you need for your writer’s toolbox.

When writing a novel, you are opening a door into a fictional world – a castle in the air – and inviting the reader inside. You want that imaginary world to feel absolutely real to the reader. You want them to be totally absorbed in the story you have created and to not want to leave that world until the very last page is turned. But what tools do we need to create such vivid and believable worlds? What are our building materials as writers and why are they so important?

Participants will acquire the key narrative building blocks for:

  • Plotting
  • Creating character
  • Inventing the world of the story
  • Building suspense
  • Controlling pace

Kate has taught and told stories all over the world, from Sydney to Singapore, Chicago to Chichester, Edinburgh to Fiji, Oxford University to the Greek Islands. Join Kate and fellow writers to invest in your own writer’s toolbox this October.

This workshop is suitable for fiction writers at any stage of their creative journey.
