**Please note the date of this workshop is June 18** Join Dr Lee Kofman to learn about different forms of personal essays, discuss how to find your themes and voice, and look at examples by known writers to learn more about structure.
Personal essay is one of the most interesting forms of writing. Some essays are short memoirs, siblings of short stories. Others are more discursive yet still vivid, offering viewpoints filtered through personal experiences and intimate voice; not lectures, but conversations.
Participants will learn:
- About various forms of personal essays
- To identify your essay themes
- Examples of essay structures
- How to forge your essayist's voice
- How to write persuasively
Suitable for all writers but geared toward aspiring and emerging essayists.
