Overland VU Short Story Prize for New and Emerging Writers

The Overland Victoria University Short Story Prize for New and Emerging Writers encourages excellent and original short fiction, by new-ish writers, of up to 3000 words in length. It’s a coveted annual award for new writers, with a grand first prize of $6000 and two runner-up prizes of $1000. All three stories will be published in the Overland’s spring issue. Judges will be announced shortly. (For the purposes of this competition, ‘new or emerging’ describes a writer who has published no more than one book with commercial distribution.)

Full competition details can be found on their website: https://overland.org.au/prizes/vu-short-story-prize-for-new-and-emerging-writers/
