2020 Peter Carey Award

The Peter Carey Short Story Award returns for 2020, opening for entries on February 3 and closing at 6pm AEDT March 19. Organised by the Moorabool Shire Council, the award is for short stories between 2000 – 3000 words, and is open to all Australian residents.

Entry is $10 per story. The winning entry receives $1000, while the runner-up wins $500. First and second prized stories will also be published in the Spring 2020 issue of Meanjin. Longlisted entries will be judged by Elizabeth Tan, author of Rubik and the forthcoming Smart Ovens for Lonely People.
